چکیده :
ProZ.com is a prominent platform in the translation industry, providing freelancers with opportunities to connect with clients. A critical feature of this platform is the Willingness to Work Again (WWA) feedback mechanism, which enables clients to rate their translators based on their experiences. The importance of understanding client feedback through this mechanism lies in its potential to influence a translator's employability and professional reputation in a highly competitive field. The present study explores the relationship between client feedback and employability in the translation industry by analyzing the WWA feature on ProZ.com by employing a mixed-methods approach. The sampling involved identifying 200 ProZ Certified members who had received visible WWA feedback, ensuring a diverse representation of translators across various language pairs and specializations. In the quantitative phase, the WWA ratings were statistically analyzed to determine trends and correlations between the star ratings and client comments. Subsequently, in the qualitative phase, a content analysis of the client comments was conducted, identifying recurring themes and specific aspects of professionalism that clients value when selecting translators. The analysis indicated that higher WWA ratings correlated with positive comments highlighting translators' communication skills, adherence to deadlines, quality of translation, professionalism, responsiveness, attention to detail, adaptability, cultural awareness, reliability, problem-solving abilities, consistency, and proactive engagement with clients. Translators can leverage the findings to improve their professional practices and strengthen client relationships, while educators can incorporate these insights into curricula to better prepare students for industry expectations and enhance their employability in the translation market.
