چکیده :
The Event-Related Potential, ERP, is a brain-based modern method that records the brain's electrical activity in real-time, millisecond by millisecond. This method is the practical way to analyze syntactic priming that facilitates the processing that occurs when the syntactic form of a sentence is the same as that of a preceding sentence and it can provide evidence concerning the presentation and access to linguistic knowledge. The present review aims to provide information about all the differences in neural mechanisms using ERPs, which provide real-time records of brain activity millisecond by millisecond for coding and processing syntactic priming presentation among EFL learners with different proficiency levels. Critically, syntactic priming can also be observed more often in various structures, passive, active, and reduced relative, main clause, prepositional objective, and double object in both comprehension and production and relation between them in different languages. Some structures such as reduced relative that have lexical overlap between prime and target sentences showed syntactic priming effects more than other structures like prepositional-object and double-object. In an attempt to determine the most likely mechanism for syntactic priming effects between different proficiency levels, implications from the reviewed literature are considered.
